About

Welcome to my blog!

I'm a Northeastern girl living in Decatur, GA -- affectionately known as the Berkley of the South --  just east of Midtown Atlanta. A former corporate and nonprofit writer and editor, I now spend much of my time with my two tween-age boys. I launched this blog in the winter of 2012 when I was temporarily insane after being home with sick children for what seemed like an eternity. With a nudge from a few friends, I started posting just for fun. Bluemopheads has evolved into an outlet for sharing stuff from my everyday life. I mostly write about things I love – design, travel, flowers, gardening, food and books. In some cases things I loathe like doing laundry and poor etiquette. My intent is to inform, as well as entertain.

Oh, and just in case you're wondering, my blog title comes from an at-home floral design business I had before my children were born. I hope to return to it some day.

With the exception of an occasional give-away, my posts are not sponsored. All opinions are my own or those of my guests.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you learned something new or perhaps had a good laugh.

Maureen
